The capital city of England is settled in the south-east of the Island of Great Britain. London is a port on the Thames River, which has 210 miles long.


Underground in London

Even if London is the biggest city in England and one of the biggest cities in Europe, communication in this town is really easy, because of the expanded rail network. The tube in London is as well-known as famous double deckers. The London underground system has 11 Tube lines. It's the best functioning tube in the world.


London Eye

This tourist attraction located on the south bank on the Thames River is the world's tallest observation wheel. From the top, visitors can see up to 40 km in all directions.

  • Big Ben is not the clock tower, it's the bell.
  • Before 1907 each bus had each colour, depends on the line. Nowadays every bus in London is red.
  • The London Eye can carry over 800 people each rotation.

Today I watched a video which shows what happens in our body when we swallow the gum. As much as food by chewing is breaking into smaller pieces, gum's form is not changing at all. Is £600 for a night at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel a good value of money?

£600 isn't a good value of money for a night at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel. There are plenty of other places where you can stay paying a lower cost. It's more economical finding a cheaper room at a not renowned hostel than spending money for the only famous-name of the hotel. Moreover, the majority of people don't have a possibility to give few hundred pounds for only one night even if it is a luxurious resort. Spending a night at Mandarin Oriental Hotel for 600£ isn't worth.

Yesterday I was in the shopping centre and there were a lot of bills showing an upcoming show of the famous circus. They were encouraging people to come by telling about "amazing and breathtaking" lions and goats performance. I realized how cruel is getting rich at the cost of animals peaceful life. Not only lions and goats suffer in the circus. There are plenty of animals such as camels and elephants, which have to spend most of their life in cages, training or shows. Performing in circus also affects their comfort - animals are stressed and feel uncomfortable. It isn't their natural habitat where they have a wide open area to run and socialize with others. I would never go to a show with an even breathtaking show of lion because there is no entertainment in watching poor animals which are forced to do tricks and make other people happy.
